12 feet
10th March 2015
Another lovely spring day in Mayo, and for a third day in a row I was full of hope, planning to go out for a sunset picture. But for the third day the cloud cover came in about an hour before sunset, and once again there was none, not even a hint of colour.
So here is an image of Urluar Abbey taken early in the morning a week or so ago. The abbey is in a lovely location but it is quite difficult to photograph showing its location, because the area around it is very well fenced off. So to get this image I am standing as far away from the abbey as I can with my little Fuji Xe1 on a tripod which I have held as far above my head as I can, so the camera is about 12 or 13 feet off the ground. Of course I had to take several pictures as I kept missing bits of the Abbey.
