Is this Landscape?
25th April 2010
Photography is about making images, as a Landscape photographer I often use long shutter speeds to show movement in water and skies.
I have recently begun experimenting with some abstract images of the mayo coastline, these two pictures were made on Carronisky Beach on two different occasions. Using a slow shutter speed to show movement in the water but also moving the camera during the exposure results in an abstract image.

I had great fun doing it and enjoyed the fact that I never knew for sure exactly how the picture would turn out.

What do you think... is it landscape?

By Tom: Oh, it is landscape, the essence of calm, stability, creative, very different. I'll have to try a follow my leader in this!
By omnishots: It's a landscape!
By Ann-Marie Mulloy: Yes, you are right they are both landscape - really like the tones in abstract 1 - the blue sea is coming out to me. A real modern twist. The second image is full of beautiful warm tones and as Tom said giving a calm feeling.
