Over the castle

I was back on Achill again today, still working on the geology project, it was my third trip back to one site! This is because on the two previous occasions the weather forced me to abandon. The weather on Achill can be so changeable, and the site at Lough Accorrymore is very exposed , at times it was even too windy for the tripod. Achill was lovely today, the forecast was for sunshine and showers. well I saw plenty of showers, and they seemed to come so quick and were very heavy. But I also saw sunshine, so i got the job done!! The great thing about sunshine and showers together though is that you might also see rainbows. I saw this one developing as I began the drive home, as I drove along by Cloughmore I could see the rainbow in the distance and hoped it might be over the castle. As I came around the corner, there it was, I worked quickly of course and got a couple of shots off before it disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared in the first place
